A former Counters Secretary for the Glasgow & District Amal Branch, as well as the Area Health & Safety Representative, Carole became the Regional Counters Chair for Scotland & Northern Ireland, and was subsequently elected as Territorial Chair when the post was created. 

Carole held these roles until they were abolished as part of the restructuring as part of the Industrial Relations Framework Agreement 2010, when she took on the role of Area Representative for West of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
